No Audio / One-Way Audio
No Audio / One-Way Audio
"One-way audio" means you can hear the other person but they can't hear you, or vice versa. This is a common and usually fixable VoIP issue.
Check the basics first
- Make sure you haven't accidentally left the call muted.
- On Desktop, check the correct microphone and speaker are selected as your system's default input/output devices (in your operating system's sound settings, not inside the app itself — DT Desktop Direct uses whatever your OS has set as default).
- If you're using a USB or Bluetooth headset, make sure it's actually connected and selected as the default device before the call starts — plugging it in mid-call may not be picked up until you restart the app.
Network causes
One-way or no audio is very often a network/firewall issue rather than an app problem — something is blocking the audio stream in one direction while the call signalling (which controls setup/teardown) still gets through fine. This is common on:
- Restrictive corporate/guest Wi-Fi networks
- Some VPNs
- Certain routers with aggressive firewall or "SIP ALG" settings
If this only happens on one specific network (e.g. at one office location, or one particular Wi-Fi), that's a strong sign the network itself is the cause — try a different network (like mobile data) to confirm.
Still not working?
Contact your administrator with:
- Whether it's no audio in both directions, or just one direction
- What network you were on when it happened
- What device/platform you're using
Audio-path issues often need server-side traces to fully diagnose, so this detail helps a lot.
